What this is
Chai Pe Date helps people meet at a tea stall, in a group, in daylight. We put people in touch. We are not there, we do not run the tea stall, and we are not a party to what happens when you meet.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over. One account per person. Sign in with an email address you control or with your own Google account. Continuing past the sign-in is your agreement to these terms and to the privacy page.
What we ask of you
- Turn up when you say you will, or release the seat — releasing early costs you nothing and is what we would rather you did.
- Do not put anything on a table's conversation that you would not say out loud at the stall.
- Do not use this to contact somebody who has stopped wanting to be contacted.
- When you add a tea stall or a neighbourhood, describe what you can actually see. Other people decide where to stand based on those three answers.
We put people in touch — nothing more
Chai Pe Date is a listing service. It shows tables that members open and lets other members ask to join them. We do not organise, host, attend, supervise or insure any table, and we are not a party to any arrangement between the people at one.
We do not verify the people or the tapris on Chai Pe Date. We do not check anybody's identity, age, background or intentions beyond the email address or Google account they signed in with. Tapris are added by members; we do not inspect them, and a mark from our staff that a place looks busy enough is a judgement from what was reported, not an inspection or a guarantee.
Your safety is in your hands
All checks and balances are yours to make, every time, before, during and after a table. Before you join one:
- Choose crowded, well-known, well-established places — a busy tapri on a main road, not a quiet corner.
- Look at the host and at who is sitting before you ask. If anything feels off, do not join.
- Tell somebody you trust where you are going and when you will be back.
- Go in daylight, get there and back on your own, and pay for your own chai.
- Stay in the open. Do not go anywhere else with somebody you have just met.
- Leave whenever you want — leaving early costs you nothing here, by design. Use the report and block controls; a block is silent and the other person is never told.
If you are ever in danger, contact the police (112 in India) first. We are not an emergency service.
Hosting a table
If you open a table, you run it. Host only at crowded, well-established tapris that anybody can find. Approve only people you are comfortable with. Start on time, keep it friendly, end when you said, and call it off early if you cannot make it.
The host and the guests are responsible for everything that happens at, on the way to and after their table — how they behave, what they say, what they agree, and any loss, harm or dispute between them. Chai Pe Date is not there and is not part of it.
No liability for what happens at a table
You use Chai Pe Date, and meet anybody through it, entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chai Pe Date, its owner, operators, staff and partners are not responsible or liable for anything that happens before, during or after a table or any meeting arranged through it, including the conduct of any member or third party, any injury, loss, theft, damage or dispute, and any statement a member makes about themselves or a place.
You agree to hold harmless and indemnify Chai Pe Date and its owner against any claim, loss or cost that arises from your use of the service, your table, or your dealings with other members.
What we can do
We can suspend or remove an account. We can take a tea stall off the map. We do not have to explain either at length, though we will tell you it happened. A suspended account cannot shed the suspension by deleting itself and signing up again.
What we do not promise
That the service is always up, that a table will fill, that anybody you meet is who they say they are, that a place is safe, or that a tea stall is open when it said it would be. The service is provided as it is and as available. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Indian law.

Changes and ending
You can stop using this at any time, and you can delete your account yourself — see the privacy page. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will say so in the product.
